A Scientist, An Artist, Your Dentist
Dr. Kennedy Dele attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, a Biology minor, and a Fine Art background. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – New Jersey Dental School, where he found the balance between his passion for science and his love of art that still shapes his dentistry today.
After dental school, he completed post-doctoral training in a highly competitive General Practice Residency at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, with rotations in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Implants, Oral Pathology, Periodontal Surgery, Orofacial Pain, TMJ, Anesthesia, and Intravenous Sedation at Washington Hospital Center and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda.
More than twenty years into practice, Dr. Dele’s philosophy starts with an unusual premise: accurate diagnosis is a joint effort. He gathers the information with you, walks you through what the images actually show, and builds a treatment strategy around your goals and your budget, not a lecture script. Patients describe it as co-discovery, and it is why so many Annapolis families trust him with generations of smiles at the same practice.
That approach extends to the whole office. The front desk is chosen for being genuinely insurance-savvy and efficient about scheduling. The clinical team is encouraged to slow down and answer the question behind the question. New patients, nervous patients, and Spanish-speaking patients all get the same welcome: time, clarity, and a plan written in plain language, English or Spanish, your choice.
Today he focuses most deeply on the services his patients ask for again and again: dental implant restorations, crowns and bridges, sleep apnea treatment, and Invisalign. Each one gets the same signature combination: an engineer’s precision, an artist’s eye, and a schedule that respects how full your week already is.
Dr. Dele holds licenses in Maryland and Virginia and maintains memberships in the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, but the credential he points to most is the continuing education he completes throughout the year. The profession changes fast; his commitment to staying current is the part of the biography the degrees do not capture.
When he isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Dele enjoys time with his family, travelling, and creating art through drawing and painting. His studio habit is no small detail: the same steady hand and trained eye behind a canvas turn out to be exactly what patients appreciate when he is designing a crown, reshaping a gumline, or planning a full smile transformation. Art and dentistry were never separate paths for him. They were the same one the whole way through.
